Do I need previous tax preparation experience to start my own tax preparation business?
Opening your own tax preparation business does not require any previous tax preparation experience. iTax Institute will teach you how to prepare individual and basic business tax returns, build, operate and market your tax business
Are there any franchise fees?
We are NOT a franchise, this is an opportunity for you to create your OWN tax preparation business with your own business name and profit 100% of your tax preparation fees.
How do I access my tax software?
The iTax Professional web-based tax software can be accessed from anywhere in the world from a laptop, mobile device, iPad or tablet. All you need is internet access. How will my clients pay me for their tax preparation services?
There are no upfront tax preparation fees for clients that are receiving a federal refund. With your tax software and bank products, your tax preparation fees will be automatically deducted from the taxpayer's federal refund and deposited directly into your business bank account; this is called a Refund Transfer (RT). Some taxpayer's that are receiving a federal refund may also pay an upfront tax preparation fee with a check, debit card or credit card. If your client has to pay taxes, you must collect your tax preparation fees upfront and you will have access to a secure merchant to send invoices and collect those fees.
How long does it take for my client to get their refund and for me to get paid my tax preparation fee?
After electronically submitting your client’s tax return, the IRS typically takes up to 21 days to process the return. Taxpayers can track their refund through the Where’s My Refund tool on the IRS website. Once the return is Acknowledged/Accepted, it’s in the hands of the IRS; the taxpayer and tax professional must be patient. The tax preparer gets their tax preparation fees directly into their bank account and the taxpayer receives their refund on the same day.
What is the tax software refund policy?
This tax software is non-refundable after purchase.
What kind of support is available during tax season?
We offer In-Season Support with weekly live Zoom sessions where you can get your questions answered and receive additional guidance. Can’t make it to a live session? No problem — Zoom replays are uploaded to your membership dashboard within 24 hours so you can catch up anytime.
